Self Help for Anxiety
Many people use self help for anxiety treatment and cure.
This seems to work for a lot of people with great results.
However other people who only use self help seem to get no
results or at best mediocre results in treating their
anxiety.
What makes the difference between someone who successfully
cures themselves of anxiety, and others who still continue to
struggle?
Here are three things that I think can help you if you
choose to use self help for anxiety treatment.
1. Keep a Journal
Most people try to solve the problem without actually
understanding what the problem is. And while it may be obvious
that you suffer from anxiety, it may not be exactly obvious
why, and under which situations it is worse for you.
This is why I and urge everyone that suffers from anxiety
and panic attacks to start keeping a journal. In this journal
you need to record when you suffer bouts of anxiety, the time
of the day, where you're at, and anything else that may be
important.
If you keep this journal for several weeks you are often
able to find patterns of when you experience anxiety the most.
For example you might find that your anxiety is the worst on
Sunday night's.
2. Read a Lot
If you do choose to use self help for anxiety cures, then
you need to become a voracious reader. Read everything you can
about anxiety. Read what causes it, what the common treatments
are, everything.
You need to make yourself an expert on anxiety so that you
are best able to help yourself. Because you choose the self
help approach, you have to become your own expert.
3. Try a Lot
Another key is to try is many different techniques for
curing anxiety as possible. Don't just try one or two
techniques and give up on yourself.
Whether you need to try 23 techniques or 57 techniques. You
need to keep trying until you find the one technique that works
best for you.
Conclusion
In conclusion, you need to keep a journal to accurately
describe your anxiety problem, educate yourself about the
problem, and try as many different solutions as possible until
you find the best one that works for you.
Self help anxiety does work for many people and it can work
for you.
