When trying to find therapy for panic attacks there are
many possible solutions out there. Thanks to a growing
recognition of this quickly growing epidemic there are more
resources available to you now, than ever before.
For those of us who suffer from panic attacks it can seem
like our world is shutting us out because we are now unable to
go certain places and have certain experiences for fear that we
might experience a panic attack at the worst possible time.
But if you actively seek therapy for panic attacks you can
overcome them and cure them. You just have to have courage to
try. Here are five possible ways to cure your panic
attacks.
1. Visualization
Visualization has been used for a long time and has been
proven to work in a wide variety of situations. Even the Apollo
astronauts would visualize successful moon landings before they
would happen.
You too can use visualization as therapy for panic attacks.
All you have to do is spend a few minutes at the beginning of
every day visualizing yourself going through your day without
experiencing any panic attacks.
See yourself being confident happy and stress-free. See
yourself as worry free as you know that whatever comes your way
you'll be able to handle it without having a panic attack.
2. Hypnosis
Hypnosis and self hypnosis have also been shown to work for
a wide variety of people. While some people are more prone to
hypnosis then others it is often worth a try.
Hypnosis and self hypnosis have been used to help overcome
things like smoking, weight loss, and shyness. You can even use
it to help overcome your stress, anxiety, and panic
attacks.
3. Relaxation Techniques
Relaxation techniques are another popular therapy for panic
attacks. There are many different techniques that range from
meditation to breathing techniques.
As with any other skill, relaxation often takes practice to
get it perfect. So don't give up on relaxation techniques
before you give them a good chance to work.
4. Diet and Exercise
Diet and exercise is the one area where almost everyone
needs to improve. If you are suffering from panic attacks then
try to cut out caffeine and any other poor nutritional foods
you may be eating.
Also try and start exercising for at least 20-30 minutes
every day. If you're out of shape you can at least go for a
walk around the neighborhood.
5. Counselor
Going to a counselor is a good choice for many people who
suffer from panic attacks. Although I was able to overcome my
panic attacks without seeing a counselor you might benefit from
seeing one.
If you do choose to see a counselor as therapy for panic
attacks, make sure you ask them what experience they have in
treating people who have this condition.
